The Gott Collection of paintings, prints and drawings of Yorkshire was assembled in the 19th century by a wool merchant, William Gott and his son John Gott, Vicar of Leeds and later Bishop of Truro. It was presented to Wakefield Art Gallery in 1930 by Frank Green, a Yorkshire industrialist and philanthropist. The bound 10 volume collection comprises 1200 images, including watercolours, drawings, maps and prints depicting Yorkshire villages, towns, cities, buildings, ruins and landmarks. Artists represented include the Buck brothers, Francis Drake and J.M.W. Turner among others.
