Sarah Lucas: Tit Teddy

To mark the acquisition of Sarah Lucas’ work Nude #2 into Wakefield’s art collection and The Hepworth Wakefield's 15th birthday, we are delighted to launch Tit Teddy, a limited edition print by the artist.

The artwork

Tit Teddy depicts one of Lucas’s signature sculptures, created and photographed especially for this edition. Re imagined in silkscreen and constructed in 27 layers, the process captures the subtle nuance of the image, resulting in a rich, vivid composition.

When asked about the work, Lucas describes that "Tit Teddy likes a party. He’s also quite partial to maternal seeming females and gentle men. He likes being patted and stroked on the shoulder and breast."

Tit Teddy was created especially for The Hepworth Wakefield and is available exclusively through the Hepworth Wakefield Shop.

Sarah Lucas gained notoriety for her bold and irreverent style as a so-called ‘Young British Artist’ (YBA) in the 1990s and 2000s. She makes bold sculptural work that uses everyday objects to summon the female form in a way that is both humorous and confrontational.

We work with The English Framing Co. based in West Yorkshire, to provide an expert framing service for our artist edition prints. 

Each frame is made by hand, using state of the art equipment, conservation level materials and FSC timbers and acrylic.

Please note editions will be framed with UV acrylic as standard.
